Food Grade Paint 2 Quarts (WHITE)
GENERAL PURPOSE & USES: A two component high solid epoxy, urethane modified used
for high traffic industrial floors, Long range protection of structures and surfaces exposed to
corrosion, weather or wear; as maintenance coatings for chemical storage, fuel, ballast and
water tanks, as coating for linings pipes, fittings, and other mechanical construction; as wear-
resistant for machinery, trench plates, decks and floor coating; as an industrial finish for walls,
ceilings, lab benches, tables and other buildings areas requiring good appearance and/or
sanitary scrabble surfaces.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Varni-Lite 5402 series is an easily applied epoxy system with long
pot life and excellent physical, chemical characteristics. It provides excellent appearance and
has great toughness, flexibility, and resistance to impact, abrasion and wear. It has outstanding
adhesion and with proper preparation will bond itself and other surfaces after years of
exposure.
SURFACES: concrete, ferrous and no-ferrous metals, wood, gypsum board, some plastics and
many other surfaces.
MIX RATIO: 1 part “A” to 1 part “B” by volume
METHODS OF APPLICATION: Brush, roller, spray
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: 2-4 coats, depending upon service condition requirements.
SOLIDS CONTENT BY WT: 70 -79% depending upon color or pigmentation.
FILM THICKNESS: 2-3 MILS. dry per coat. (max.4mils wet film thickness)
POT LIFE: 6 - 8 hrs @ 77’F.
TIME BETWEEN COATS: 6 - 8 hrs. @ 77’ F or until tack free (In closed areas, ventilation and
more time maybe required)
COVERAGE: 250-350 sq. ft/gal, depending upon surface roughness, loss, etc.
SHELF LIFE: 24 months (In cool, dry. area)
CLEAN UP: Use Varni-Lite R-115

VOC: After mixing 1 part A to 1 part B by volume is 250 g/l.
SURFACE PREPARATION, MIXING, & APPLICATION: All surfaces to be coated shall be dry,
clean, free of loose particles or other contaminants and properly abraded by means of sanding,
grinding, chipping, blasting or etching in accordance with standard procedures. After bringing
the material to room temperature and stirring separately the two components shall be mix
together in equal proportions, stirring thoroughly including scraping the sides and bottom of the containers to ensure that there is no unused material. After mixing, Varni-Lite 5402 must be
allowed to stand for 1/2 hour before using. After this initial reaction time. Varni-Lite 5402 may
be applied in any of the normal methods to a maximum wet film thickness of 4 mils per coat. If
a non-skid deck topping is required, fine aggregate may be broadcast into the wet film and
sealed with a subsequent coat.
